WE GOT WORMS!

On Thursday our red worms were delivered and we couldn't help but investigate them for a while before we put them into our classroom compost bin.  The kids fed their curiosity by observing and recording information about their worms after, naming them of course.  The kids drew diagrams, measured the worms, wrote general observations and conducted small experiments such as, recording the worms' reactions light and water.  Be sure to ask your students questions like:

What is a worm's role a compost pile?
What are the body parts on a worm?
Did your worm like light or dark?  Why do you think?
Did your worm like wet or dry?  Why do you think?
Why did we decide to use centimeters to measure our worms, instead of inches?
Did you enjoy the observations?  What was your favorite part?

Also, enjoy the pictures!
