STAR SCIENTIST

Tyler was our Star Scientist this week.  Tyler and his mother guided us through a scientific procedure and....surprise!  We made ice cream.  It was delicious and messy.  Tyler also had his dad come to share his tow truck with us.  His tow truck has been engineered to tow large vehicles such as semi-trucks, box trucks, and buses.  Tyler also shared more about himself by way of a power point presentation.  Click here to view his presentation.

STAR SCIENTIST

Abby Robinson is our Star Scientist this week.  She read to us about space shuttles (a form of space transportation).  She also showed us the how the gears on our bicycles make the work of transporting ourselves easier.  Abby showed us how to make a cloud in a bottle using a water bottle (with very little water) and a match.

GREAT MATH PRACTICE

I stumbled upon a really great math skill practice website that would be ideal for practice at home.  The website has quiz games for numerous math skills, such as place value, time, money, measurement, and more.  It also has some language and geography skill quizzes.  The 3rd grade section has some reading comprehension.  Be sure to click the drop-down boxes below the games to find different quiz sets.
